The Recreational Trail from Thorton to Northglenn behind the Thornton Rec Center on Colorado and 112th has been closed for months.
Since these trails are partially funded by Colorado State funds, isn't there a legal procedure, regarding the posting of closure signs on the trail, and posting detours?
Thornton did nothing, just erected a fence across the trail. When the trails thru Denver are closed for construction, signs are always posted with dates and detours. I can't imagine the City of Denver is doing this out of the goodness of their heart.
I have seen people on wheelchairs go down there only to have to turn around, and go back. Even if there is no legal reason to post these notices, why can't the City of Thornton be a good neighbor and post closure and detour notices. Since you are unaware of the closure until you get to it, the closure signs should be erected on the East side near the Colorado underpass, and the Northglenn side at Fox Run Parkway.
