The Ed Kosorok Agency, an Allstate agency in Thornton, is among an elite group of Colorado agencies to be recognized as a "Green Agency" by Allstate Insurance Company. The Allstate Insurance agency owned and operated by agent Ed Kosorok made a financial commitment to help offset the environmental impact of their office.

The offset, a contribution to leading environmental nonprofit Carbonfund.org, will support reforestation in national wildlife refuges in Louisiana and Kansas and clean, renewable wind energy generation. It supports 12,000 kWh of green, clean electricity (more than the average home uses in a year) and more than 2,700 square feet of forest restoration.

"As an Allstate agent it's my job to help protect my customers and help safeguard their future. I can't think of a better way to do that than making an investment in our planet," said Kosorok. "I'm excited to join Allstate and take a stand for this important cause."

In addition to its Green Agency program, Allstate has pledged continued to support for environmental causes. In November, the insurer launched "Allstate Green", an eco-friendly product feature being piloted to customers in the states of Colorado and Ohio. Allstate also committed $200 million in environmentally friendly investments by 2010.
