Thornton Gordmans names new manager

OMAHA, Neb. – On March 7  Gordmans, Inc., an Omaha-based apparel and home fashions retailer, has named Robert Walker store manager for its Thornton store at 10001 Grant St. In his new position, Walker will direct all merchandising, operational and human resources functions at the Thornton location.

Walker joins Gordmans with more than 34 years of retail experience. He began his retail career as a buyer for May Department Stores Company and later served as a store manager for May, Target and Wal-Mart. Walker most recently served ten years as a general manager for multiple Wal-Mart Supercenters in the Denver and Colorado Springs areas. Stores under his management received several awards for loss prevention, sales and operational success.

Throughout his retail career, Walker has also been actively involved with organizations including the Aurora Chamber Foundation, United Way and the Association of Retarded Citizens, in the communities in which he has lived and worked.

Walker graduated from the Arapahoe Community College in Littleton, with a bachelor’s degree in marketing. For more than sixteen years Walker has lived in Aurora, with his wife, Susan.

The Thornton Gordmans’ invites the community to come and meet Robert Walker. Any guest asking to meet Robert Walker will receive 15 percent off his or her purchase when using a new Gordmans credit card account.
