Northglenn grad now Northglenn mayor

Second-term Northglenn Mayor Kathy Novak graduated from Northglenn High School In 1980. She has many fond memories of living, working and playing in Northglenn. While attending Northglenn HS one of her favorite teachers was Mark Mavrogianes who is still a social studies teacher there. He was very inspriational and a few years ago was namedColorado teacher of the year. "He was challenging and brought out the best in each of us."

One of the moments that stands out in her memory was, while attending Huron Middle School, the student population was divided intosplit shifts: Huron North and Huron South.She remembers passing by all her friends around noon after their classes had ended and hers were just beginning. Now Huron has transformed againwith a new locationnorth of 120th anda new name: Silver Hills.

She is looking forward to attending the Alumni Lilft-Off on August 18th with family, friends, classmates and community members.
