You regularly hear about High School students that make the All State basketball or football teams, and even the swimming and volleyball teams are given full page coverage complete with pictures. This year two Legacy High School students attained the All State moniker and have virtually gone unnoticed.
Clarinetist

Nick Pierce both earned the honor of being named to the 2007 Colorado All-State Symphonic Band.
The band, chosen from among the best musicians from all Colorado High Schools is sponsored by the University of Northern Colorado School of Performing and Visual Arts, School of Music. The students get together for two days of practice/rehearsal and then put on a concert at the Monfort Concert hall in Greeley. This years concert included students from 93 different High Schools and was performed under the auspices of Guest Conductor Colonel Arnald Gabriel. Colonel Gabriel is retired from the Air Force where he served as Commander/Conductor of the internationally renowned U. S. Air Force Band, Symphony Orchestra, and Singing Sergeants.
Clayton Stansberry, Band Director at Legacy High School, said "I could not be more proud of Rachel and Nick. Making All-State is a tribute to their hard work and dedication. The number of hours of practice they put in is astounding and they both deserve this honor. The band, the school, and our community are exceptionally lucky to have these two great kids."
Rachel and Nick are both Juniors and give Legacy a bright future.
