For the month of December, some of the Docents of the Denver Art Museum will be showing their wonderful talents at 45 Degrees Custom Framing & Gallery. The reception is 2nd Friday, December 8, 2006, from 6pm-9pm. We are located at 7570 Grant Pl., Olde Town Arvada. Stephanie Navarrete, owner, is also a Docent. She attended college at Adams State College and CU at Denver. Her major was Fine Arts, and she also took classes in painting and drawing. Although Stephanie enjoys more traditional art, her artwork is taking an experimental approach, dabbling in mixed media. Her collage work has been well received and most of these pieces have been sold. Not to worry, she has more! Kenita Gibbins' mother saved a picture of her, with a brownie camera around her neck at age 5. She began to get more serious about photography when she got her first digital camera. She then began taking classes in technique and Photoshop. That is when she discovered her passion for photography. Kenita feels that the training she has received from the Denver Art Museum has helped her to develop an eye for seeing more in the surrounding beauty she comes upon every day. Sharon Rouse strives to portray our past, it's influence on today's culture, our relationship to and with nature, through watercolors and pastels. Her inspiration can be triggered by everyday images, ranging from Amish hats hanging on a clothesline to a snowstorm on a mesa. As Sharon works with watercolors, she is often reminded that they, like nature, are a constant challenge - diverse like nature, spontaneous, often unpredictable, knowing that understanding is not always possible. Sharon recently retired after 24 years as a visual arts specialist in public and private schools. She is a D.A.M. docent and instructor in their adult education programs, in addition to workshops for other organizations. Her paintings have been displayed in galleries, juried shows, private collections, and now at 45 Degrees Custom Framing & Gallery, inc. Lauren Paul will also be exhibiting a few of her beautiful drawings and paintings. For the month of December, we will also be offering 20%off of a complete custom frame order. In order to receive your framing by Christmas, please bring your items in by December 14th. Check out our website at www.45degreesgallery.com. We hope to see you at the reception, or to take advantage of our quality custom framing as a gift that is something new and different!
