It's not every day you get to see a roller-skating parrot, a "Simon says"-playing pooch and a flag-raising pig. About 70 folks were treated to those amazing animal performances and more at the Rangeview Library District's Thornton Branch Library on March 15th.
John Vincent and his troupe of specially trained trick animals delighted the audience with golfing, pig frisbee and a parrot obstacle course. The Super Pet entertainers included: Panji, the Indonesian parrot, Drifter, the chocolate lab and pot bellied pigs Digger and Mudslinger.
They are actually a celebrity group, having made appearances on Animal Plant, David Letterman and Jay Leno. Mudslinger has been called one the world's smartest pigs by Hog Genius on National Geographic.
The program also incorporated some animal education and animal care for the kids. That's a subject near and dear to Vincent with most of his animals coming from rescue centers.
