SINGING TO HELP FIGHT CANCER
Contributed by: Marge Carlow on 8/20/2008

Two very talented singers will be performing at the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life at Webster Lake on Saturday, September 6 at E. B. Rains Park in Northglenn. Ryan Bowman, a sophomore at Mountain Range High School will sing the National Anthem at the Opening Ceremonies which start at 11:30 a.m. If you had a chance to hear Ryan sing at the July 4th Celebration in Northglenn, you know what a treat it will be to hear him sing the National Anthem. Ryan has performed for the Colorado Department of Education and was featured on Channel 9 when they recognized their Teacher of the Year.

Another fantastic singer, crooner Bobby Marchetti, is donating his and his orchestra's time for a three hour concert which begins at 5 p.m. on September 6 at E. B. Rains Park. Bobby Marchetti and the Celebration Orchestra is well known in the Denver area, and Bobby has performed both locally and nationally. The community is invited to this FREE CONCERT which will be followed by the Luminaria Ceremony during which those who have cancer or who have lost their life to cancer are honored. The community is encouraged to attend this very moving and impressive ceremony which begins around 8:00 p.m. at E. B. Rains Park. Lighted luminarias will line Webster Lake throughout the night.

The Webster Lake Relay For Life has almost 50 teams working to raise money to help the American Cancer Society find a cure for cancer and provide education and support for the community. It's not too late to make a donation to the American Cancer Society through the Relay for Life or to buy luminarias ($10) to honor a loved one affected by cancer.
