The Silver Seven

Seven members of Cadette Troop 1704 of Northglenn and Thornton received their Silver Awards at Mile Hi Council's Silver & Gold celebration Monday night at the El Jebel Shrine in Arvada.

The Girl Scout Silver Award is the highest earned award for Girl Scouts ages 12-14, the second highest in all of Girl Scouting. Silver Projects require each Girl Scout to earn specific awards as well as plan and carry a project that requires no fewer than 40 hours. The Silver award projects can be completed as individuals or with members of a troop or group however, each girl is held accountable for her portion of the project.
Troop 1704 planned and presented a Harry Potter themed camping weekend for the Junior Troops in the Northwoods Unit.

The girls were additionally surprised by their leaders when a black hummer limousine arrived to transport them around town and then to the celebration

The girls recognized for their accomplishments last night are:

Abby Williams, Ashley Shope, Elizabeth Cooper, Hunter States, Kimber Rogers, Natalie Allen, and Reiley Price.
