In June, over 50 relatives, friends and neighbors gathered for a picnic in the park to celebrate Don Novy's 75th Birthday. Originally from Wisconsin, Don taught Mathematics on the East Coast and in South America. Settling in Colorado in 1970, Don's life-long commitment to education led to his serving on the School Board of Adams 12 District from 1973 to 1979. During the 1970's Don worked for the City and County of Denver Career Service Authority and in the 1980's owned and operated a printing company in Aurora. A return to the classroom found him teaching Mathematics again on the Junior and Community College level. Don retired from teaching in 1996.
Don and his wife, Joan live in Woodbridge Station as do their son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Jeanna Novy and their boys, Ben and Max. Their daughter, Cristina Johnson lives in Leavenworth, WA with her husband David and son Lucas.
