Sharaine Rawlinson, 45, and Randall Roberts, 49, both of Thornton are
engaged to be married on September 25, 2005.
Sharaine
has a Masters of Social Work from the University of Kansas and works as
a consultant to colleges, universities and rehabilitation programs
serving deaf and hard of hearing individuals across the country.
Sharaine was born in Albuquerque and has lived in Kansas City, Mo. and
Minneapolis before coming to Denver in 2001.
Randall is presentation director at the RockyMountain
News,
where he is responsible for the design, graphics and editing of the
newspaper. He is also a free-lance photographer specializing in travel,
outdoor and landscape photography and has been published in magazines,
books and calendars in the U.S. for the last 15 years. Roberts is
originally from Marlow Heights, Md. and has a Bachelor's of Science in
Journalism from the University of Maryland. Randall worked at
newspapers in Baltimore, Dallas, San Antonio and Albuquerque before
moving to Thornton in 1998.
Sharaine is the daughter of Kim T. Rawlinson of Eagan, MN and Deanne G. McMain of Albuquerque, NM.
Randall is the son of Emma R. Roberts and the late Karl W. Roberts of Marlow Heights, Maryland.
Randall
and Sharaine met through eharmony.com in early 2004 and the romance
grew quickly. They share interests in travel, photography and gardening.
Randall
proposed to Sharaine on February 5 during a Denver Nuggets basketball
game. He got the Pepsi Center to flash his proposal up on the
scoreboard during a pause in game action. Sharaine was very surprised,
but said yes in front of 19,000 fans. Flowers and a kiss from "Rocky,"
the Nuggets mascot, capped the surprise proposal.
The couple plan to marry in September at Stonebrook Manor in Thornton.
