The Rotary Club of Denver Metro North held its charter presentation and induction of 2007-2008 officers Monday, June 25, 2007, at the Ramada Inn in Northglenn.
Rotary club members from Nederland, Lakewood, Broomfield, Parker and other areas attended to watch as the state's newest club became official.
Provisional president
Greg Radziewicz,who wasa driving force in the club's formation, was made an "official" president for about 15 minutes before turning over the reins to
Jerry Rohlfs, the club's president for the next year. Both Rohfls andRadziewicz remarked about how they were proud of how the new young club had grownsince the idea emerged less than two years ago.
The presentation of thecharter was made by
Radziewicz and Rotary District Governor
Frank Sargent.
The Rotary Club of Denver Metro North is a growing club looking for community-minded individuals. The new club serves the northern Denver metropolitan area and includes members from Thornton, Northglenn, Westminster, Broomfield, Federal Heights and other parts of Adams County.

Club accomplishments last year:
• Breakfast With The Candidates
All Adams County Candidates were invited to a breakfast meeting with
the community to pitch their service potential. Over 75 people attended
• Christmas Cards To Argentina
We sent, in conjunction with Northglenn/Thornton Rotary, Westminster
7:10 Rotary and Westminster Rotary, cards to Argentina to be sold and the
proceeds used to purchase toys for kids at an orphanage.
• GOALS Inc Email Support
GOALS is a northern area after school support group for at risk kids in
Adams 12 school district. While they had computers for the kids and their
staff, they had no email. We are continually providing a safe and secure
email system for their use.
• GOALS Inc Backpack donation
The initial contact with GOALS came about when they informed us of a
need for their kids-basic school supplies. With the assistance of Mark
Justice, Office Depot store manager, we were able to procure 150
backpacks filled with supplies.
• Sponsoring Of An Outbound Exchange Student and RYLA
We are quite proud to be sponsoring Laura Snyder as an outbound
exchange and RYLA student. She will be attending RYLA this summer
before heading to Denmark for a year.
• Co-Sponsoring Of An Inbound Exchange Student
Working with Northglenn/Thornton, we helped with Stanislas Bertrand, an
exchange student from France.
• Thornton Police Academy Donation
In honor of
Ron Davis, the club gave a donation to the Thornton Police
Academy.
• Silver City, NM Rotary Club Abused Spouse Center Donation
A request we received and chose to provide for was assistance in
completing a spousal abuse safe house in Silver City, NM.
• Weekly Book Donation
For many weeks past and into the future the club will be donating a book,
in the name of our guest speaker, to a local school. This is a long term
literacy project.
• Roasting of
Noel Busck
As the past mayor and multi-year member of Thornton City Council and
current RTD board member, Noel has been very active in the northern
area. The club held a Roast in his honor and raised over $36k. After
expenses, the money was shared with Noel's charity of choice and both
the club and Noel's church received roughly $12k.
• Medical Supplies to Dominican Republic and more!
The club has projects coming up! We are just getting started...
