Thornton Easter Egg hunt March 22
Contributed by: City of Thornton on 3/14/2008

THORNTON, CO... Thornton's Easter Egg Scramble is a crazy, colorful kid scramble like no other in the metro area. "It's a sight to see," says Recreation Coordinator Shelly Shipley. "At the sound of a horn, children in four age groups scramble for plastic Easter eggs containing prizes and candy." The entire event lasts only a few minutes, making it a fun media opportunity not-to-be-missed! There are always plenty of eggs, so no one goes home empty-handed.

The fun happens Saturday, March 22 at Thornton Community Park Ball Fields located at 2141 E. 95th Ave. Mr. & Mrs. Bunny arrive at 9:30 a.m. to welcome the children, then at 10 a.m. sharp the scramble starts, ending at 10:03 a.m.

Children up to age eight are invited to participate. Age groups (walking -2, 3-4, 5-6 and 7-8) will have their own Easter Egg Scramble. Children should bring Easter baskets to collect eggs and candy.

Parents can find parking at the Community Building, north of the ball fields and on nearby side streets. This is a very popular event, and parking spaces can disappear fast, so everyone is encouraged to arrive early. There is no parking available at Holy Cross Church.

There is no rain date. The event is sponsored by The Goddard School for Early Childhood Development on 136th & Colorado Blvd. and the City of Thornton.
