Grandparents Raising Grandchildren Conference

Please Join Thornton for the 2007 Grandparents Raising Grandchildren & Kinship Providers Conference

THORNTON, CO... The City of Thornton will be hosting the 2007 Grandparents Raising Grandchildren & Kinship Providers Conference on Saturday, October 20, from 9 am. - 3 p.m., at the Margaret Carpenter Recreation Center.

Topics will include legal issues, challenging behavior with children, resources for grandparents and taking care of your health. Cost is $5 for adults/$3 for children ( swimming is available for kids 6 and older) and includes lunch and childcare.

Keynote Speaker Debbie Hart with FACES will discuss "Children's Rebellious Behaviors." In addition, there will be breakout sessions on the following topics:

* How to Avoid Guilt Driven & Co-dependent Behavior

* Today's Technology: Risks and Advantages with Krista Flannigan, Director of Community Partnerships for the 17 th Judicial District Attorney's Office

*Playing for Your Health with Brenda Baker and Jennifer Richardson from Families First
