Meeting on April 19 designed to inform area residents
The City of Thornton will host a neighborhood meeting to inform residents about a master plan for the Eastlake Station area. The North Metro Environmental Impact Study currently underway is recommending Eastlake as one of the transit stops on the FasTracks North Metro Corridor. The Master Plan will help ensure that new development in the Eastlake Station area functions well as a transit stop area and fits with the surrounding area.
While Thornton approved a subarea plan for Eastlake in 2003, this new plan will focus more on detailed planning of the station area, in particular the vacant land around the station and connections to the station. The City of Thornton welcomes comments and input from the community on this proposed plan.
Residents are invited to a community meeting to introduce the public to the principals of transit and its relationship to land use. The meeting will be:
Monday April 14, 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Adams 12 Conference Center
1500 East 128 th Avenue
Thornton, CO
Thornton has hired Glatting Jackson Kercher Anglin, a nationally-known consulting firm company to prepare the master plan. The planning process will take approximately six months and recommendations will be presented to the Thornton City Council.
