Thornton's annual summer festival, Thorntonfest, takes place Saturday, May 17 on the Multipurpose Fields, at 108th and Colorado from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Activities for the day include:
The Marketplace: featuring a Craft Fair that offers a great opportunity to find that special gift. There will also be dozens of Business Exhibitors and Service Groups highlighting their services and products
Community Pet Hospital's Paw Fest for pets and pet owners, with microchipping, discounted pet vaccinations, a national canine Frisbee competition, dog agility competitions and demonstrations, pet vendors, creature features and more
Kids Korner: featuring bungee trampolines, a climbing wall, the T-Mobile Mini-Train, children's amusements and more
Youth Sports Area: Interactive activities, demonstrations and representatives from many of the community's youth sports groups
The Marketplace Stage will feature performances by Dotsero, Kory Brunson presented by KYGO, Boogielicious, The Miles Apart Band, Pharaohs of Funk, and FACE
Arbor Day tent: Thornton's Forestry staff will offer help with lawn and garden issues
Grease Monkey presents the Mile Hi Cruisers Classic Car Show, featuring a huge display of classic cars and hot rods
Family Health Fair: an easy way to get information on area health services
Life Safety House: Kids can learn lifesaving lessons about what to do in a fire
New this year:
Two Beer Gardens for adults to relax and socialize while enjoying an ice cold beverage and the
Battle of the Bands, where local youth bands will be showcased.
Thorntonfest will also feature a City Services Tent with representatives from various City departments to answer City-related questions.
