On Saturday, July 18, the Carpenter Recreation Center will host an "Open House" from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in conjunction with National Recreation and Parks Month. This free event is designed to help residents discover how their local Parks and Recreation Divisions can help them achieve a fitness lifestyle. This event will include:
· Sports challenge: including basketball skills, football accuracy, speed pitch, gymnastics obstacle course and more
· Fitness assessments: Meet with the trainers and discuss fitness options
· Free body fat testing
· Demonstrations and fitness class samplers
· Informational booths
· Facility tours
· A free workout towel for the first 500 participants
The Carpenter Recreation Center is located at 11151 Colorado Boulevard in Thornton. Everyone is welcome to this event, a membership is not needed.
July has been designated as the nation's official Park and Recreation Month since 1985.
