Have a heart - give a book

GOT BOOKS?
Woodglen Elementary School is in dire need of your appropriate books for 5-12 year-olds to bring their book collections up to standards. After growing to 665 students (20% over capacity) there is immediate need for a mass injection of books into the classrooms and library. According to staff, collections need to increase from the current 12,000 volumes to an equivalent size school with about 30,000 volumes.

Woodglen currently has 30 classrooms which require a minimum of 500 volumes per class, i.e. 15,000 volumes. With a class size of 30 that would be only 17 volumes per student. This does not include volumes which are necessary for the library.

Additionally, Woodglen has not had a significant renovation to its library since it was built in 1972. Funds for book cases to serve the increased student population and needed collections are required along with necessary upgrades.

Please help Cub Scout Pack 139 with their Holiday Book Drive this December.
Cub Scout Pack 139 accepts new and gently used books appropriate for children 5-12 years-old only. Books with lots of pictures encourage children to read! Please secure our children's future, invest in expanding their knowledge and bring the magic of reading into their hearts. We promise that you'll enjoy making a difference in young people's lives!
