The City's Comprehensive Plan is an important document that articulates the overall vision for Thornton's future. The plan also includes goals and policies that provide guidance in achieving the community's vision.
The City has grown and diversified since the last Comprehensive Plan was approved in 1997. Different parts of the City have different needs ranging from redevelopment and stabilization of neighborhoods in the southern and central parts of Thornton to guiding new growth in the northern parts of the City. The planning process for the new Comprehensive Plan recognizes these different needs and includes three citizen committees representing the south, central and north parts of the City.
If you are disabled and planning to attend this public meeting and require assistance in understanding or participating, please notify the City's ADA Coordinator at 303-538-7243, (TDD) 303-538-7667, at least eight hours in advance and arrangements will be made to provide any assistance that may be required.
