Last Saturday Luis Alvarez had the opportunity to meet the voters up close and personal in the Thornton Harvestfest 50 th Anniversary Parade. Mr. Alvarez was escorted by a red Hummer and flanked by more than 20 volunteers as they gave out more than 300 balloons on the parade route.
George and Virginia Bowser of Thornton led the parade with a red white and blue banner. Said Virginia, "Luis is such a wonderful young man. He's exactly the kind of leader we need down at the capital." Alvarez said he was pleased to see so many people out on a rainy day. "The response was incredible. We meet so many great people, and it was a wonderful day."
Luis Alvarez is a candidate for the State Senate District 24 representing Thornton, Northglenn, Federal Heights and parts of unincorporated Adams County. Alvarez stands for more resources for teachers, immigration reform to protect our borders, and more transportation dollars for Adams County.
