Water main breaks in Thornton
Contributed by: City of Thornton on 7/18/2006

THORNTON -- The southbound curb lane of Colorado Boulevard between 110 th Avenue and 108 th Avenue is closed due to the break of a 16-inch water main. The break caused the soil underneath the pavement to wash out. The lane will be closed until Thursday morning, July 20, when repairs are expected to be complete.

The water to that main has been shut off and rerouted, so customer service has not been disrupted.

Because of the break, congestion can be expected during the peak rush periods on Colorado Boulevard. Drivers in that area should consider alternate routes, such as Holly Street and Washington Street until the repair is complete.

If you have any questions, contact Communications Specialist Lisa Wilson, 303-538-7282, or Utilities Operations Manager Mike Gay, 720-977-6650.
