On April 18, 2007 at approximately 5:14 A.M. Colorado State Patrol Troopers
responded to a semi-truck roll-over crash on westbound I-76 at milepost 99,
just outside of Brush, CO.
Mark Folks
age 29 of Thornton was driving a
2005 International semi-truck pulling double box trailers westbound on I-76
when he lost control rolling the truck 1/4 time on its side blocking all
westbound lanes.
Mr. Folks was trapped inside the semi and had to be extricated, he was
airlifted to Northern Colorado Medical Center with serious injuries. The
semi-truck was loaded with approximately 1300 pounds of hazardous materials
labelled corrosive and flammable. Colorado State Patrol Hazard Material
Unit responded to the scene to contain a small leakage of materials.
Westbound lanes of I-76 have been closed for the clean up and accident
investigation. Westbound lanes are expected to re-open around 3:00 P.M.
today.
