Many people in our society believe that their freedom is being taken away from them by a nation of laws, and they rebel in many different ways. It begins with thoughts and many times ends up in harmful actions. Human attitudes and behavior are as varied as there are people.
What kind of a society, nation or poeple would we be without laws and ways to enforce those laws? Just think about it as you routinely take for granted the protection and relative safety of yourself, your loved ones and your possessions. Then think abou the nations without laws where thousands of innocent people are slaughtered daily by lawless persons without conscience.
On a personal level, suppose someone left a harassment letter on your doorstep and damaged your propety? Would you call the polce? Exactly, and that is what we did. Two police officers came to our hom, took relevant information from us and shortly thereafter talked with suspected offender. Further, they have driven by our home regularly and have kept us informed.
People in law enforcement put their lives on the line daily. We should not only respect them for their courage and dedication, but also honor them for helping to protect our very lives. Thank you specifcally to the Thornton Police, but the thoughts are intended for all of law enforcement, and for all of us who believe in the rule of law.
