Pam's words of wisdom on Longhopes
Contributed by: Pam Moser on 6/4/2007

I first decided to volunteer for Longhopes to see what donkeys were really like. It took about 5 minutes in a corral surrounded by 15 donkeys to know that this would be a life long love affair.

What keeps me is that for so small an organization, they do an enormous amount of good for these smart, loving gentle animals.

To see a donkey come in with a ratty coat, it's ribs sticking out, it's hooves overgrown, and worst of all, a look of fear in it's eyes, and then several months later watch it leaving, going to a loving home with a skiny coat, healthy body and a twinkle in it's eyes is just about the most satisfying thing I know.

Pam Moser sits on the board of directors for Longhopes Donkey Shelter.
