Beatles 1965
Contributed by: Jill Johnson on 8/17/2007

Almost 42 years ago I had my $5.75 ticket to see the Beatles at Metropolitan Stadium in Minneapolis. Our family was moving to Colorado, but I told my parents that under no circumstances would I move until I saw the Beatles. My dad moved out here in June of '65, but my brother, my mom and I stayed on through August so I could see them.. My seats were right behind the 3rd base dugout from which all the other bands walked to the stage. Unfortunately, the Beatles came out the first base dugout, so I didn't get that good close up look that I longed for. I'm not sure how much of the concert I heard, because of all the screaming, but to this day I have wonderful memories. I slept on an old army cot that night as our furniture was already in Colorado. It was worth it . We left for Colorado early the next morning. When I saw Paul McCaetney at the Pepsi Center a few years ago for $175 nosebleed seats, the thrill, though more expensive, was still there!
