Veni Vidi Vici -- that's our motto
Contributed by: Susan DeBaca on 10/2/2006

Let me introduce you to the Reave Wrestling Club. This club was founded October 2002, with one wrestler. Sean DeBaca, president and founder, needed a name and club to take his nephew ( Michael) to an out of state wrestling tournament. Thus, the club was formed. Within one season, he met and developed a rapport with many parents who believed in the same goals -- a youth based organization dedicated to the development of youth in the sport of wrestling with national recognition.

They officially became a 501(3)c organization September 2003. The mission is simple. The Reave Wrestling Club is dedicated to pursue and develop an "elite" perspective toward the fundamentals in the sport of wrestling. Introduce youth wrestlers with nationwide recognition while providing a fun and safe team environment.

The club ages range from 4 through 18, offering year-round wrestling and attending tournaments nationwide. The club based in Thornton consists of wrestlers from all around Colorado.

The following are a few examples of their accomplishments during the history of the organization:

-- 3 time National Team Champions

-- 40 seasoned wrestlers statewide (32 Colorado State Champions/ 27 National Champions.

-- 10 Triple Crown Winners

--Golden Gear Award ( Tony DeBaca is the first recipient of this award), to be a recipient to the Golden Gear Award one must win all RMN tournaments in a season consisting of four National Tournaments.

-- Elected and maintained a full Board of Directors, a new board was placed June of 2006.

-- Established Recognition nationwide.

-- 5 wrestlers ranked in the top 5 per Wrestling USA Magazine.

The club has been entirely self suppporting by the parents and wrestlers, who sell Butter Braids and work the tables at national wrestling tournaments. They also receive monetary assistance from organizations such as theThornton Eagles, who have a yearly fundraiser benefit for the team. A gift of $1000 will go a long way in paying for uniforms, registration, travel and accommodations for the team.
