Support Senator Lois Tochtrop
Contributed by: Jan Bach on 8/2/2006

Over the past few weeks there has been literature sent to our homes saying lies and untruths about our senator. Lois Tochtrop is the best friend of all those hard working families of Senate district 24. Many of us felt invisible and discarded at the state capitol until Lois Tochtrop was elected to be our voice. Thank you for your legislation to curb municipalities abuse and use of eminent domain.

Lois Tochtrop returns every call and every letter. She is a champion and lone supporter of mobile homeowners in Adams County, about 11,000 sites in all. Lois Tochtrop has introduced bill after bill to balance the power of corporate mobile home park owners and the mobile homeowner that rent the space. Considering that Colorado has some of the worst landlord tenant legislation, Colorado doesn't even have a "warranty of habitability" law for tenants, our senator shows her willingness to right injustice with her persistence to get the laws necessary to protect the tenant from being held hostage by landlords.

Her legislation has been committed to preserving our freedoms and improving our quality of life. Lois Tochtrop attends the neighborhood association meetings in her district and holds a town meeting every month for her constituents to keep her abreast of their concerns. Lois Tochtrop also uses the town meetings to make sure she is connected to the people she serves and she has built longstanding relationships with her constituents.

I humbly ask the citizens to make the right choice for us and vote for our senator, Lois Tochtrop on Aug. 8. She is our only choice for the working families. Please believe me when I say, "Lois Tochtrop would be honored to get your vote."

Thank you.

Jan Bach is a Thornton City Councilwoman, Ward II
