Dear Editor:
I'd like to start off by letting you know I personally look forward to Thursdays and reading YourHub.com. I think it is a wonderful way of keeping the community in the loop.
I read your article today and I can't say that I am surprised that someone from the district's administration office gave you the run around. I recently had an issue come up that I felt needed to be addressed and got ignored and got bounced from one person with a title to another.
Ultimately it got dropped into the principal's lap.
I believe what you are doing is very worthwhile to our community and by
the way--Whatever happened to a little thing called the First Amendment?
It is a shame the district only welcomes us and our children to get involved when it benefits either the budgets, CSAPS or something they feel is a hot topic on THEIR agenda. You would think that positive feedback would be welcome, yet I guess they just want to hear from us when we get fired up about something they have done or a decision they have made.
You would think Adams 12 would love positive letters or calls of support! Apparently not! They kind of have the "Do as I Say, Not as I Do" attitude.
Non-profit my left toe - correct me if I am wrong, but do they still welcome Pepsi and Coke vending machines inside their schools? Do they still welcome Kripsy Kreme cards for fundraising purposes? Let's be realistic! We would be hearing about it if a kid picked up a bottle of spray paint and expressed themselves on the side of a school building! Is somebody hiding something?
Are we not allowed to know what is going on in our school district-good or
bad? What is the big deal?
Anyway, keep up the good work and hopefully you will receive some great
material from some aspiring young people who are the voices of our future. Maybe you'll also get some feedback from the parents and/or tax payers around here- maybe the school district is getting too big for it's britches.
Sincerely,
J. Brienza
