The Right to Petition

We as Americans are fortunate to be able to petition our goverment when we feel a wrong has been done, when we feel the goverment is not putting the best interest of the people up front.
The city council of Thornton is running this city as an old boys club. Deciding among themselves what they think is right and the people shouldn't be listened to.
They are ignoring their own city ordnances in handling the peoples business. This city has step by step regulations as how they must change a ordinance. This city council has not followed them.
The people of Quebec Run and Riverdale tracks are circulating a petition to stop the re-zoning of a piece of property in a residential area to commerical use i.e. Big Box.
We are asking all registered voters of Thornion to sign this petition to stop this re-zoning and also a recall petition to stop the mayor from running Thornton his own way.
