The last few weeks of campaigning are always extremely busy and this past week was not any different. First of all, Marty was proudly endorsed by the Former Thornton Mayor, Margaret Carpenter:
"As a former Thornton Mayor, I know what it takes to lead a city and I am proudly endorsing Marty Wisniewski for Mayor. Marty Wisniewski has the experience and vision needed to continue Thornton's success. Marty has a clear understanding of the needs of Thornton citizens and has plans to fulfill those needs. I am confident that Marty will lead this wonderful city in the best possible way."
Mayor Marty has already been endorsed by State Senator Lois Tochtrop, State Representative John Soper, Councilwoman Jan Bach, Councilwoman Sheila Fushimi, 27J School Board District Member Todd Cordrey, Charlotte City Councilmember Nancy G. Carter, and Margaret Clark as well as several Thornton citizens.
On Friday, Marty attended a dinner at the Senior Center. It was a big success and he found many supporters there! Marty said "We had a great meal and was entertained by Rene Heredia a world famous flamenco guitarist and the Gypsy Chics (Katarina and Deana). The guitar playing was fabulous and the dancing was incredible. I had a great time".
Saturday was the busiest day of the week, though. Marty was busy walking throughout the week and on Saturday morning as usual. After walking in the morning, Marty and some of his volunteers headed out to help with the City of Thornton's Neighbors Helping Neighbors events. There they removed trash and helped clean up the area. There was a volunteer BBQ following the clean-up where Marty got his fill of great food! In the evening, Marty and his wife delivered yard signs to supporters.
On Sunday Marty attended a church potluck and then went to J.R.'s Silver Bullet's Bronco Meet and Greet. This event had a great turn out. The Silver Bullet was completely full. There were a lot of Bronco supporters and Marty supporters in attendance. Marty was able to speak to people about their ideas for Thornton and discuss some strategies on how to get the Broncos back on to a winning streak! Overall, last week was a lot of fun.
