Since the start of the season in 1995, I have religiously watched all Avs games that have been televised. That sounds sick but when you are an Avs fan and need your avalanche fix you do what you can when you cannot go to the games. So being the Avalamche fan that I was I knew that someday I was going to met the Avalanche player that I admired most, Chris Drury. I am the kind of person that picks the newest guys on the team to root for, the underdogs. So I got the chance of a life time when I was 23. My brother at the time worked for a car dealership that did a lot of sponserships with the Avalanche and I got a phone call 2 days before my 24th birthday from my brother telling me that I needed to come to the dealership. He would not tell me why and so I went. When I had got there he said that I needed to go into his office and get my birthday present that was at his desk and when I walked into his office there he was, Chris Drury. My brother was good friends with him at the time and asked him into staying so that I could met him. I was so star struck because I never thought in a million years would I get to met him. We talked for 20-30 mins and he gave me an autograph and even tickets to an home game for my birthday. From that day fourth I have always respected the team because I have got to met several players since and they are the most down to earth guys you will ever met.
So, here we are going on 10 years and I still watch every game now with them being on the tv all the time. I never get sick of watching them, win or lose they will always have my support them.
