Thornton's Denney, Westy's Arnold honored by MWC

Thornton's Ryan Denney and Westminster's Russ Arnold were named academic all-conference award winners from the Mountain West Conference.

Denney, who played football at Legacy High School, has a 3.65 GPA in pre-management. He's a defensive lineman at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah.

Arnold, who played football at Northlgenn High School, has a 3.30 GPA in business administration. He's an offensive lineman at the University of Wyoming in Laramie.

To be eligible for selection, student-athletes must have completed at least one academic term at the member institution while maintaining a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better, and be a starter or significant contributor on their athletic team.

BYU had the most winners of any school with 89, followed by Wyoming with 43.

Nice story except Ryan Denney is the older brother to Brett Denney, who this article is about. Ryan plays for the Buffalo Bills. He is a smart kid tho.
