It's the time of year when the newspapers are full of high school sport headlines ranging from football to volleyball and track and field to soccer. Prep stats are coming from everywhere, except from the smaller schools. Schools, such as Cornerstone Christian Academy, that has a great sports program. Cornerstone is located in Federal Heights, just west of Water World.
CCA is a member of the Front Range Christian Athletic Association (FRCAA). They offer Varsity volleyball, basketball, and soccer. They also offer Junior High volleyball and basketball. Last year the boy's soccer team took 1st place in the FRCAA State Championship.
The enthusiasm that could be seen and heard was just as amazing from the players and fans of this small high school as it was at the 5A high school championships, but I wouldn't be surprised if none of you even knew that your local Federal Heights School won the first place trophy.
These high school students practice just as hard, play just as well, and enjoy fans at their games just like the big school athletes do. It would be nice if they received a little recognition and press time once in a while. Keep up the good work team! Go CCA Bulldogs!
