Hidden Lake AFJROTC wins competition
Contributed by: Larissa Hayes on 4/5/2006

LOVELAND -- On March 11, Hidden Lake High School's Air Force Junior ROTC drill team and color guard took first at Loveland High School.

Hidden Lake High is in Westminster off of 73rd and Lowell. Going into the competition Hidden Lake was the only Air Force team there, the rest were Army. Under the command of Cadet Alyssa Ruiz, Hidden Lake took first in the drill competition.

Commanding their color guard team was Cadet Karissa Saunders, the team also took first. Hidden Lake was fortunate enough to have a cadet last long enough in the individual drill off to win first. Cadet Larissa Hayes took that victory.

Walking in as the only "blue" people was a different feeling according to the cadets of Hidden Lake High School, but when they walked out they gained so much more respect.
