2 cups flour
1/4 cup milk
2 eggs, beaten
2slices white bread, cut in cubes
1 tsp. salt
2 tsp. baking powder
Sift flour, salt and baking powder. Add eggs to milk and beat into the flour mixture, making a soft dough. Stir in bread cubes. With wet hands form into 2 large balls and drop into 2 quarts of boiling water, boil 20 minutes without removing cover. Remove from water and slice with a thread into 1/2- inch wide strips.

When the folks came over from the "Old Country" many times on the farm all they would have would be a sack of flour, a couple eggs from their chickens, and milk from the cow. Simple, filling, and HOT for the men folk comin' in from the fields.
