Compact fluorescent lamps (CFLs) reduce by 1 / 3 the need for electricity used for lighting, and the bulbs are available at home, hardware, and grocery stores. (Costco multipack 6 / $14) They can be swapped for any regular bulb. The Fluorescentuses the all the energy to make LIGHT
notheat. The bulb doesn't get hot and can be handled with the bare hand. DON'T TRY THAT with an incandescent bulb !!!
On a dimmer switch use a CFL labeled for such use. A CFL can last up to 10,000 hours. That's 10 times the hours. Our kids will grow up and leave the house, before some of these bulbs burn out. The typical bulb lasts less than 1000 hours. Some people unscrew their light bulbs when they move? It's an investment in our personal ecology. We become responsible for our efficiency. Over the long term, we save $20 - $40 per bulb. Bulbs keep getting cheaper but the electricity keeps going
up!
LET THERE BE LIGHT !!!! Now, we start noticing all those lights that DON'T have CFLs, and we think about all that money (resources) that's being wasted on the electrification of utilities.

: Initiate a re-development of your infrastructure by change 100 % of your lighting to High Efficiency Lighting. Because it ADDS value, maintains reliability, and decreases a variable- utility expense.
* The technology is here for everyday use. We should use it.
