About 350 riders participated in the 20th annual High Country Harley Davidson/Buell DAV Ride for Veterans event held July 5.
The annual poker run, which featured a red, white and blue theme, raised approximately $10,000, according to event organizer
David Przygocki
. The money that was raised will benefit the Disabled American Veterans' (DAV) chapter in Longmont, as well as a Mobile Service Office, an RV that travels to local veterans to help provide information about benefits.
Przygocki, of Longmont, has run the event for the past seven years in honor of his grandfather, who served in WWII.
"This is my way to respect and pay my appreciation to veterans," he said.
This year's event featured a north and a south run, which ran as far up as Platteville and Thornton respectively.Several of the run's stops included local American Legion and VFW posts.
