Bio: Michael R. Daciek, born in Bartley, West Virginia, has lived in eleven states and two foreign countries. His overlapping careers as a military and commercial airline pilot coupled with his large family, five children and nine grandchildren, provide him with the experience to write about flying and children.
Enlisting in the U.S.Air Force in 1952, he served21 years, first as a navigator, then as a pilot, retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel.
He flew commercially for both Frontier and Continental Airlines. In 1993, a B-727 Captain with 25,000 hours, he retired once more.
