Sunset on the Cape
Contributed by: Vicki Lane   on 8/9/2006

First Encounter Beach on Cape Cod has the distinction of being the first spot where the Pilgrims met with the Native Americans all those many years ago. Because it faces west and does not look out over the ocean, it is one of the best spots on the East Coast to watch a great sunset.

When we arrived, we were surprised to find everyone watching the sunset from their cars. We bravely took the challenge and marched out onto the beach to find that as long as you were walking, the view was great. If you stopped, there were thousands of little bugs that swarmed around you and you spent so much time swatting the bugs, there was little time to enjoy the sunset. Amazingly enough, this picture was taken as the tide came in and before we ran back to the car. Looking back on the picture we took, it was well worth it.

That is an amazing sunset. Might have to make a trip there sometime to see it in person.
