Castle Rock #1 in America for Families!
Contributed by: Lane Hornung   on 8/12/2007

When families look to relocate, most are concerned with high school rankings, low crime rates, accessibility to nature, and an easy work commute. With all of these factors taken into account, Family Circle Magazine recently voted Castle Rock the #1 best town in America for families!

Located midway between Denver and Colorado Springs, Castle Rock encompasses 33 square miles and sits in the East Plum Creek Valley at the base of the Rocky Mountains at an elevation of 6,202 feet. Castle Rock's popularity continues to soar due to its large inventory of quality homes, good schools, and scenic semi-rural setting.

Castle Rock is made up of many different areas as you will find in your search: The North end, the South end, the East side and the "Old Downtown", or Central part of Castle Rock.

Homes in these areas range from the unique properties of Castle North in the 200's, to the upper 700's and beyond in the Diamond Ridge Estates, Escavera, and Glen Oaks.

The age of homes in Castle Rock range from the early 1900's to current 2007 properties just under construction. Many new home builders can be found taking advantage of the constant interest within Castle Rock. New land lots can be found ranging from the low 100's to the multiple millions.

If you are looking for some acreage, or horse property, that can also be found in Castle Rock. There are many areas such as Canon Ridge and Willow Creek where buyers can find homes on a few acres. These homes are built from the 1970s-today and usually start around $400,000.

With an estimated 48% of Castle Rock households having children, the importance of school rankings cannot be overlooked. These rankings can help determine the most fitting elementary , middle, and high schools.

This Rocky Mountain town may need to get comfortable with National recognition, for as the locals already know, Castle Rock has long been one of the best areas Colorado has to offer!
