HubCap: Passing milestones, kidney stones
Contributed by: Brendan Leonard/YourHub.com   on 1/24/2007

We have a story category here at YourHub.com called "milestones." When I think of possible milestones, the typical ones come to mind: Birthdays, engagments, births, weddings, anniversaries, graduations, awards, first-place finishes, second-place finishes, even someone finishing their first 10K, or losing a bunch of weight.

Of course, when any of the aforementioned things happen, we call it "passing a milestone," another tick mark on the scoreboard of life. I have to tell you, when I say the phrase "passing a milestone," it sounds very similar to "passing a kidney stone."

That's why I took a picture of esteemed YourHub.com Editor Travis Henry for this blog: He passed a kidney stone sometime yesterday, at work, after being bothered by it at least since last Friday, when he left the office early in search of some pain medication. So, congratulations, Travis, on passing your milestone. And thanks for not showing us.

"Well, it sure felt like a milestone."
-What I probably would have said if I were Travis

Here are some more "traditional" milestones YourHub.com users have shared:

Ralph and Irene Fieselman, of Lakewood, recently celebrated 60 years of marriage on Jan. 17, 2007, which is also Muhammad Ali's birthday.

Joe Schneller, of Castle Rock, is going to be a daddy. So is YourHub.com's Steve Shultz.

Clara Elaine Breaker, of Denver, celebrated her 100th birthday on Jan. 17, which is, as previously mentioned, also Muhammad Ali's birthday.

Bill and Judy Boucher, of Brighton, have been married for six years as of Jan. 13.

Joe McDaniel, of Parker, recently turned 63, and would like to share with you some of the possible side effects of his anti-inflammatory medication.

Wow! Travis, you must be so sedated from having a new baby that it eased the pain because I couldn't even detect your troubles this time. Fine work.
