Mary K. Smith, daughter of Merri and Vernon Smith was "hooded" at University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Center on May 22 having earned her PhD in microbiology and immunology. Dr. Smith, a 1983 graduate of Westminster High School, is a Senior Fellow at University of Washington Department of Global Health in Seattle. Her educational journey includes a Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Science, and two Master of Science degrees. Merri and Vernon Smith live in Arvada.
