DDRC Harvest Festival Run to begin at 8:00 a.m.

For those who have not heard, the Developmental Disabilities Resource Center has pushed back the start time for their annual Harvest Festival Run to 8:00 a.m. This year, officials originally planned to start the race at noon, but, after considering that many runners may not want to run five miles in the midday Sun in September, changed the event to an earlier start time. All else remains the same, including $400 in cash prizes for race winners!
Early bird registration is going on right now and offers the opportunity to save five dollars. Entrants can go directly to the website at
www.ddrcco.com, click on "Events and Meeting", and then scroll down for the events listed for September. Early birds pay only $20 for most, $15 for senior citizens, and $50 for the entire family up to five members. Registration will continue into race day with race day registration starting at 6:30 a.m.
As always, cash prizes go to the top finishers in the five-mile event. There will also be a three-mile event beginning at 9:00, and a one-mile "stroll" to commence at 10:00. Ten o'clock will also start the family activities to include a "bouncy" Castle, face painting and games. If you come for the "flapjacks", the traditional Pancake Brunch will begin serving at 8:00.a.m. This event is the highlight of the Arvada Harvest Festival year after year.
Runners needing to improve their wave placement in the following year's Bolder Boulder should note that this is a certified Bolder Boulder qualifier. The event also falls on Grandparents Day this year and will be a great opportunity for the whole family to get together for a day of family fun while supporting a worthy cause.
