Area firefighters - turned belly floppers - participated in the Hot Firefighter Smackdown! The 13th annual Water World Belly Flop Contest brought sheer entertainment to park visitors on Wednesday, August 12th.
Contestants took stomach dives at two different heights into Water World's Calypso Cove pool. There were plenty of burning red-hot firefighters' stomachs and the group, which is daring by nature, didn't disappoint the crowd! The top firefighting flopper - Eric Devereux from the West Metro Fire Department - won with the highest score and audience choice! As the best belly flopper of the bunch, Devereux won the top prize of a 5-day trip for two, courtesy of Apple Vacations, to the Riviera Maya in Mexico!
