Where have all the flowers gone?
Contributed by: YourHub.com on 5/22/2006

I drove down 88th Avenue and Sheridan two weeks ago and noticed the center median foliage has been removed. I drove past Tuesday evening and still nothing has been done. Where have all the flowers and trees gone?

According to Westminster's landscape architect Kathy Piper, the median at 88th Avenue and Sheridan Boulevard is undergoing a long overdue remediation project.

"The irrigation was in terrible shape," she said. "Most of the trees in the median were struggling due to stress and disease."

The city is giving the entire median a massive makeover, including new trees, shrubs, plants, concrete and yes, flowers. Piper said the project is expected to be completely wrapped up by the end of the summer.
