The goal of Rotary's Third Avenue of Service is to improve the quality of life for the people of our community. We can serve your neighborhood with just about any project the members wish to pursue.
LITERACY: There are endless ways to promote literacy from providing books, mentoring and reading with students, promoting teacher training to help the local schools.
DRUG AND ALCOHOL ABUSE PREVENTION: Work with government and charitable organizations to increase awareness, support rehabilitation and prevention programs. Encourage young people in drug and alcohol education programs.
AIDS EDUCATION AND PREVENTION: Share information with people in our community and assisting governmental and charitable efforts in the community.
CONCERN FOR THE AGING: Assist the elderly in our community by visiting nursing homes, arranging outings or weekend trips, delivering meals, teaching nutrition, teaching proper use of medications, organizing retirement planning workshops, hands on assistance with household repairs, running errands, shoveling snow.
URBAN PEACE: Focus on deteriorating inner cities, community terrorism, ethnic and religious intolerance, lack of recreational facilities, hunger, homelessness, unemployment, child and spousal abuse.

We have to know what we want. We have to endure being uncomfortable. We then go through a learning experience. We duplicate a successful model. Then we improve 1/10th% in our actions and thots each day. When we do so, we double our production. Within one year, if we maintain the discipline of thinking and acting 1/10th% improved over the day before, we continue to double each year.
