New Fiber Cement Siding
Contributed by: Steve Johnson on 6/6/2008

What's all the hoopla over Fiber Cement Siding? It has taken over the new construction and residing market. Homeowners find that it gives the real wood appearance without all the hassle of wood. Certainteed Weatherboard and James Hardie are two major players in this market.

We just finished an installation at 9131 Stuart St. in Westminster. The old outdated dark colored T-111 fiberboard siding was removed. New Tuff-R Insulation and Tyvek house wrap was installed. Then new Certainteed Fiber Cement Stucco Boad Siding was applied along with new composite batt strips. Also for accent the front and west gables were installed with fiber cement staggered shake. The finish is Sherwin-Williams Super Paint with a 25 year finish. Stop by and see the how beautiful Fiber Cement Siding can be. It is woodpecker proof as well as very fire resistent. The Sherwin-Williams Super Paint has a 25 year manufactureres warranty and Certainteed warranties their Weatherboard Siding for 50 years.

The photos show the installation process as well as the finished look. More details about Superior Products can be found at www.asksuperior.com or you can write Steve Johnson at stevej46@comcast.net
