WESTMINSTER, CO (June 24, 2008) -
Erickson Retirement Communities, a leading developer and manager of retirement communities for the middle-income market, is starting to develop its second community in the state of Colorado.
Tanglewood Creek will be located in Westminster; Erickson opened
Wind Crest in Highlands Ranch last summer.
The Tanglewood Creek Welcome Center is now open at 701 West 128th Avenue. The Welcome Center, where people can come to learn about the community, is open 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. Appointments can be made by calling 303-450-9800 or 800-644-1126.
Located on 67 acres just miles from downtown Denver, Tanglewood Creek will have views of both Pikes Peak and Longs Peak. According to census estimates, approximately 194,000 people age 65 and older live within 25 miles of the site.
Customer interest in the project to date has been extremely positive, with more than 1,600 people inquiring about Tanglewood Creek even before the Welcome Center opened for business two weeks ago, and an additional 450 people requesting information since that time.
"Having Wind Crest so close is a big advantage for us," says Jason Longwell, director of sales for Tanglewood Creek. "When Wind Crest was starting up, no one knew who Erickson was, but now they do. We're also going to be able to take our prospective residents on bus trips [to Wind Crest] so they can actually see what we're building, rather than just showing them a drawing on paper or an empty plot of land."
Tanglewood Creek will be located approximately 30 miles from Wind Crest.
As with all Erickson communities, Tanglewood Creek will be developed in phases based upon market demand. The community is tentatively scheduled to open with a few hundred units in late 2009 or early 2010.
