Students, families and staff kicked off the start of a new school year at Westy Elementary on July 12. Superintendent Roberta Selleck was on hand to meet families and students and welcome them to District 50. Students learned the name of their teacher, received immunization and health tips from the Baker School-Based Health Center and information about the Irving Street Library, as well as bike and fire safety ideas from the Westminster Police and Westminster Fire Departments. Westminster Mayor Nancy McNally and city councilors joined the fun and talked with families. Hot dogs, chips and cookies were enjoyed by everyone!
