The University of Northern Colorado honored a group of outstanding freshmen Sunday, February 25, 2007 at its annual UNC's Next Scholars reception.
Melissa Jeffries, a 2006 graduate of Ranum High School, was named one of UNC's Next Scholars.
This honor recognizes the achievements of UNC freshmen who have at least a 3.5 grade point average fall semester.
"Students' success during the first semester of college sets the tone for future successes," said Dean of Students
Samantha Ortiz Schriver. "It is important to recognize young scholars and hold them up as examples for the rest of campus," she said.
The reception is an annual event hosted by the Dean of Students Office and Mortar Board.
